Sam's Recipe Book

My name is Sam and I love to cook almost as much as I love to eat. I have decided to start recording all the crazy experiments I try in my poorly stocked kitchen. Hopefully I'll add some more signature dishes to go along with my gumbo.

Simple Chili

Seattle

This is a simple chili recipe that is cheap and easy to make. Pretty good for a weeknight that makes enough to save some leftovers. A note about beer: use a beer that you would gladly drink. Many people prefer darker beers in chili such as a bock or stout. This adds a great sweetness. Personally, I prefer to use a hoppy beer such as an IPA because I like the dry, earthy flavor it gives the chili.

Add the beef back in

Add about half a beer and a small can of tomato paste
