Side Dish: Refried Beans

Refried beans are a great way to use up leftover pinto or black beans that you may have laying around when you cooked a big pot. You could do this with canned beans too but you might need add seasonings.

Heat some fat in a cast iron skillet and add a few scoops of cooked beans

Mash down the beans with a wooden spoon or potato masher while stirring. Then simmer beans for a few minutes to thicken

My secret to have good creamy beans is to add a scoop of cream cheese

Stir the cheese in thoroughly and serve
